Lingering side

I would like to say that I don’t have any but unfortunately there are a few.


The brain fog hasn’t lifted yet. My thoughts are a bit scrambled, sometimes words and getting them out coherently is hard. Sometimes I forget things - more so than a normal 53 year old


Food tastes different and things I used to like don’t taste that good anymore.


Bone pain and tingling sometimes happen. This has gotten better as time has gone on.


Sleep is also something that has changed. I don’t sleep well at night and by 3 I hit a wall and take a nap most days.


I have to remember that I was given the chemo drugs for 6 months - then recovered just enough for surgery and now I am 7 weeks out from surgery. These things take time to heal

Not the end of the road

Even though I am done with chemo, had the mastectomy, done with radiation, I still have to recover and will have Keytruda till the end of the year and willl have reconstructive surgery in the spring.

 
 
 
Radiation- the emotional toll.

I wish I could tell you radiation is easy. To me it was the worst or maybe it was just because it was the last step in my process and emotionally I was done. The only appointment I went by myself this

 
 
 
Radiation- the process

So the first thing you do and radiation is you get a CT scan. During this procedure, they are mapping you out for the locations that you will receive radiation for. You will get at least three marking
